IPL 2023 Schedule for Delhi Capitals: Match date, Time, Location

DC had a lackluster 2022 season, coming in fifth place after the league stage. This time DC is in Group A.
The Delhi Capitals, led by David Warner, will take on KL Rahul’s Lucknow Super Giants on April 1 in their opening game of IPL 2023
. Although there is no current information on his recovery time, it is highly likely that Pant will miss the IPL this year due to injury. On December 30 last year, he narrowly avoided death when his car was involved in an accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. Pant is currently using crutches after undergoing knee surgery. His likelihood of playing seems remote given that the IPL season will begin in less than two months. DC will require a replacement captain in his absence.

David Warner-led Delhi Capitals took to social media and revealed their new kit for IPL 2023. “Kyu Dilli, kaisa laga surprise #NayiDilliKiNayiJersey is here  Launched in the city, for the city, and with the city. Children from the Savera Association were among the first to don the season’s new threads at this morning’s #RunForGood event with our players,” DC Tweeted.

Recently, Delhi Capitals made an official announcement stating that in Rishabh Pant’s absence, David Warner will be leading the franchise in the 2023 season of IPL. Along with Warner, Axar Patel was named as vice-captain.”The JSW-GMR co-owned Delhi Capitals today announced Australian batter David Warner as Captain for the upcoming season of the TATA Indian Premier League. Warner steps in as skipper for Rishabh Pant, who is currently undergoing rehab and recovery. Meanwhile, all-rounder, Axar Patel has been named the team’s Vice Captain,” said DC in a statement.

Here is a complete list of the Delhi Capitals’ upcoming games, their locations, and their start times.

Opening batsman Prithvi Shaw is one of many candidates for captain. However, the DC management might not give it to Shaw in light of all the recent controversies he has been associated with. Not to mention that David Warner, who had a strong debut with the team in IPL 2022, is a proven leader for DC. Of course, selecting a captain for the IPL 2023 is a task that head coach Ricky Ponting and the rest of the management must complete quickly.

According to DC’s schedule, they begin their campaign on the road against LSG and play their first home game against the Gujarat Titans, the current league winners, in Delhi.

Fans of DC would be anticipating three special home games. the ones against the five-time champion Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 11, the RCB in Delhi on May 6, and the Chennai Super Kings on May 20.

Delhi Capitals, led by David Warner, unveiled their new jersey on Sunday for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season. The team released a photo of its brand-new jersey on its official Twitter account. The David Warner-led side has also kept their traditional red and blue colors in their new jersey.

Delhi Capitals launched their brand new jersey ahead of IPL 2023. DC shared a glimpse of the new team kit on Sunday afternoon. The franchise has retained the blue and red combination but the design is different this year. Earlier, DC used to read even on the chest but this year, the red is only on the shoulder while the front and back of the jersey are completely blue. “Mood after looking at our #IPL2023 threads. #YehHaiNayiDilli ki Nayi Jersey,” DC captioned the photo in which David Warner, Axar Patel, and Prithvi Shaw can be seen wearing it.

DC deconstructed the jersey, telling the reason behind the design. An Infographic was shared by DC on their social media accounts in which they wrote about the significance of the color combination and the design elements. “A lighter, red tone and a part of the Vermillion color family, it often signifies a fresh, fierce beginning, just like ours for the season ahead,” DC described why they opted for the color red on the shoulders.

Explaining the importance of the blue color scheme, it said, “A bolder, medium dark shade of cyan-blue that stands for liveliness, energy, and youth resembling the Capitals philosophy.”

There is also a Tiger print on the jersey. “Our identity on and off the field, showing our fearless attitude and courageous approach in the face of every challenge ahead,” read the description of The DC Tigers.

Rishabh Pant will not be available for DC this year as he has been ruled out due to injuries he sustained after the car accident last year. Warner will be leading the team in his absence while left-arm off-spinner Axar Patel has been named as the vice-captain of the side.
